## What Is an Oval Gear Flow Meter for Diesel?
An oval gear flow meter measures diesel volume by trapping fixed amounts of fluid between two rotating oval gears. Each rotation corresponds to a known volume. The meter counts rotations to give total volume passed.
These meters work on positive displacement principle. The gears mesh tightly. Diesel cannot slip through. So the meter stays accurate even when diesel viscosity changes with temperature.
